So what is the truth about Bling Bling? Many people judge rappers for wasting money on cars and jewelry. People say they don't save. This may be true but are the really the ones #WINNING.
Maybe we are wrong, but isn't money a representation of something more valuable. Just saying, it is written in quite of few United States history books that money in fact is a representation of gold.
So if these artist continue to do what people call wasteful spending, they will realize they are only exchanging the paper for valuable GOLD!!!! So keep on dropping your record advance on those gold chains. Your bank account may be broke now but your pandora box will be worth a ton when the revolution begins!!!
Boston - Los Angeles- Two guards in the NBA suffered critical damage to their hearts while substaining injuries of embarrassing dunks at the expense of their motivation.
Once again, another guy under 6'5, tries to be BIG. Well, being BIG, as the NBA motto states, will get you headlines. In this case its not the headlines they want. Sources INSIDE the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons organizations, tells Themicbooth.com they are currently making arrangements for these guys funeral in the off-season. They are citing "good try" as the basis of not doing it sooner. One can only hope other potential HEROES don't arise. At least not against the alley oop. It was to the point even ESPN thanked Twitter for the ability to have Jason Terry trending all night long. If you actually have no idea what we are talking about, view the videos below. ENJOY
The resemblance between President Obama and an actor who plays the devil on History's "The Bible" has drawn more than a little notice.
Conservative commentator Glenn Beck was among the first to take to Twitter to point out the resemblance between Obama and Mehdi Ouzaani. A slew of tweets and news stories ensued, many from Obama supporters who weren't pleased.
History did not immediately respond to a request for comment from TheWrap.
In the miniseries, the actor resembles an older version of the U.S. president. Last year, HBO's "Game of Thrones" came under criticism when its executive producers said in a DVD commentary that a fake head of President George W. Bush was impaled on a spike in one scene.
"The Bible" has been a huge hit for History, drawing 13.1 million for its first episode and 10.8 million for its second. It is executive produced by "Survivor" creator Mark Burnett.
Last week, one of its executive producers, Scott Sassa, resigned as Hearst's entertainment and syndication president after what the New York Post described as a sexting scandal involving a stripper.
Now as many know the events of this past week included Lil Wayne almost buying the farm.
Lil Wayne's visitor's list at Cedars-Sinai hospital in L.A. is quite the star-studded lineup! The Young Money boss, who was hospitalized last week following a series of seizures, has been surrounded by friends and family since he was first re-admitted on Wednesday, March 13 -- including bold-faced names like Nicki Minaj, Drake and Birdman.
Its great that Lil Wayne has support. However, the question of his health along with other rappers namely Rick Ross have come victim not to the guns and shells but to the liquor and chicken.
Conflicting reports about Lil Wayne's health condition have been circulating ever since the rapper was rushed to the hospital to be treated for severe seizures on Tuesday, March 12. He was released on Wednesday, but quickly readmitted after his bodyguards found him unconscious on the floor several hours later.
What would Lil Wayne be representing? What legacy, other than music will Lil Wayne leave behind? The man has hits. The man has education attending University of Houston and University of Phoenix. It is also overlooked that his secondary school was in fact a magnet school. Magnet schools are reserved for accelerated students. The man is no dumb-ass. At least not when it comes to academics. His life choices definitely has some meaning behind it and hopefully the coming days will allow him to address whatever issues he is working out. Maybe this is isolated, a case of a bad batch. If you drink hard you know the feeling. Out cold, wake up the next day, headache, and the shits that come out like golf balls.
On Friday, TMZ originally reported that the rapper's health was in very bad shape, saying that he was being read his last rites. But a source close to the "Lollipop" rapper told Us that those reports have been wildly exaggerated.
"He drank too much sizzurp to get a better high," the source explained to Us. "He needs rehab but he's not close to death or anything. He's fine and just coming down off the high."
Sizzurp is a highly addictive, recreational drug that involves prescription-strength cough syrup, sugary sodas and hard candies, typically sipped out of Styrofoam cups.
FACEBOOK - A social media giant. It has a goal to take over the world. No really, they have about 1 billion users. Has anyone truly measured its effectiveness? If not, what unit of measure should they use? Should it be by direct revenue generated solely on Facebook marketing, or should it be based on engagement. Not until now, has impressions of your ad held so much value on the internet. Major corporations did not see the value of putting their product on say MYSPACE, however find it almost necessary to do so with Facebook. So let's get to the bread and butter.
The bottom line Facebook, for an artist, is only as effective as the friends the artist connects with. Let's use King Jaffi, fictional rap artist from Brooklyn. King Jaffi is on Facebook. King Jaffi has 4,497 friends. You might say awesome, great, let me check this kid out. POW, value right there. Jay-Z once said "men lie, women lie, numbers don't". This statement has been the business model, as quiet as it is kept, for many successful entrepreneurs. If you saw this site had 1 million friends on Facebook, chances are you would be beating our email to death with music, press kits, and more completely uninterested in the fact that maybe we just won't listen, or furthermore that you just won't receive as much value as the brand you are shopping to.
Up to this point, we actually shed light on some positive outlooks on Facebook. Now, lets look at the other side. King Jaffi, with his 4,497 friends, well, each one of those friends have no less than 1,000 friends of their own. Works in your favor right? Wrong! The more friends a person has the less space your post are able to be viewed. Great way for Facebook to capitalize. Like with any website, changes can be made behind the scenes. For example, if I wanted, I could make it whereas the only post someone sees is King Jaffi. Now that would be amazing for King Jaffi because at that very moment all 4,497 friends are talking about him. That's not the case. When King Jaffi makes a post, there are 999 other people making a post per friend King Jaffi has. In retrospect King Jaffi is not just competing with the industry in the mainstream, he is competing for a chance to be heard over someone's life long friend, or party promoter, DJ, or now, as it has become the norm, MAJOR CORPORATIONS. King Jaffi is competing with 4,492,503 other people. Can you imagine if all of you were in one room? Now tell me everyone is going to listen to an unsigned rapper from Brooklyn because he said his video is fire. NOT GONNA HAPPEN.
What you are seeing occur is a monopoly. Facebook has become so big it becomes less effective for unsigned artist to market. In the real world, artist handing out their CD on 42nd street in New York, or the strip in Las Vegas, or the Broadwalk in AC, are only competing against other artist. Artist handing out their video on Facebook are competing against the likes of Dove soap, Ford Motor Trend, Dog lovers who still bash Michael Vick. Get the picture now?
Just how can you fix this problem? Simple, do not forget about grassroots marketing. When they say build a fan base, they are referring to, in most cases, actual humans who will gather in one place at ONE time. Yes, you have 50,000 likes but, how spread out are those likes, It does not help if you only have 15,000 in the United States, and about 12 are actually from your own neighborhood. Grassroots marketing is what TheMicBooth.com specializes in. Because we are a service provider, we can afford to be a boutique firm and not really worry about Facebook likes as our real clients has something more important than likes, MONEY. Willing to spend on their careers. Willing to be guided in the right direction. Willing to invest in real stats and opportunities instead of looking for the easiest way to get "poppin". We know how to change the direction of your career for the better, and with a REAL budget we will. Most important, you have to actually know how to perform, write, rap, sing, dance, or whatever it is you do, well.
A six-month-old girl who was shot in a Chicago neighborhood on Monday has now died.
The Chicago Fox station is reporting that Jonylah Watkins was shot five times as her father, Jonathan, changed her diaper in the front seat of a minivan. Jonathan was also shot, but is expected to recover from his wounds. The shooting took place in Chicago’s Woodlawn neighborhood.
Though the police told Fox that they are investigating multiple possibilities, they also stated that the shooting had “very strong gang overtones. Jonathan Watkins has more than 30 arrests on record.
“Regardless of who you are or regardless of what your role is as an adult, everybody has a role to play to make sure every child is in a safe city, in a safe neighborhood, and in a safe community on a safe street like other parts of our city,” said Rahm Emanuel, mayor of Chicago.

New York - Artist continue to scratch their heads, in the hip hop genre, how can we sell like other genres on iTunes as an unsigned artist.
You just proved our 'STEP ONE" to selling 1 million records on iTunes. That is to have a catchy title.
So little goes into creativity of a title. Too many times, an artist thinks from his own state of mind instead of the consumer. If you are in a sad state, or high, or just overly happy at the time you are considering a name for the title of your album, you probably won't generate a lot of interest. You have to remember, as an independent artist, you will be overlooked...a whole lot. The best thing you can do at minimum is have a cool title. If I were an aspiring artist, I would probably name my album something like "Your Mother Wears Combat Boots". Why? Because you just made that screw face when you was reading it just now thats why. People like Souljah Boy, Lil B, and Waka Flocka, may be rated low on our lyricist chart, but they are one of the most successful artist when it comes to market themselves hands down. They are actually probably the best that ever did it. Remember, Souljah Boy was still cutting school when he did a million off of ringtones.
So what is step 2?
We will get to step 2 but you got to come back for that. If you want the rest of the formula now fill out a contact sheet on our contact page and request our unique services, receive a consultation and we can fast-forward this lesson and get you selling some records INDEPENDENTLY. Of course these steps aren't in order just a disclaimer. If the first thing you worry about is the title of the album you are already on your way to a failed project.
